U.S. News Releases 2016-2017 Business School Rankings
FYI – today, U.S. News & World Report released its updated business school rankings. The top school rankings tend to shift by a place or two ever year, but of note for this year, Yale moved into the top 10 for the first time since 2012 (a HUGE jump from 13th to 8th), effectively bumping Darden back to just outside of the top 10. While HBS and Stanford continued to battle it out for the #1 spot, interestingly, this year Booth shares the #2 spot as well (climbing two spots in the rankings!)
As we expected, the top schools’ admissions stats also showed us that, directionally, average GMAT scores and GPAs are continuing to rise for the top programs, while acceptance rates are declining (eg. things are getting even more competitive – no surprise!). Remember that scores aren’t everything – these schools clearly have an increasingly-talented pool of applicants to choose from, so it’s important that you stand out, no matter what your scores.
